In collaboration with the Għajnsielem Local Council, Għaqda Drammatika Għajnsielem is organizing various activities throughout the Lent period. A traditional and a modern “Way of the Cross” has been inaugurated at Ta’ Passi fields, where the “Bethlehem f’ Għajnsielem” activity is usually held. This innovative initiative will provide the public with the opportunity to mediate the Way of the Cross throughout the Lent period. Local schools, local councils and other community groups are encouraged to organise group meditations. A 50 feet provisional cross structure has also been constructed at ta Passi fields which can be viewed from many locations. This will be lit up every day from Ash Wednesday, 6th March 2019 until Easter Sunday, 21st April 2019. Both the Way of the Cross and the Cross have been constructed from recycled materials such as wooden pallets.
